This policy describes what COOLMOJI actually does with data, not what a template says a website usually does. The site is a copy-and-paste library for emoji, kaomoji and Unicode symbols. It has no accounts and no advertising, so almost everything a normal privacy policy has to cover simply does not happen here — and the few things that do are listed below with the exact retention period.

What COOLMOJI does not do
The shortest way to describe this site’s data handling is by subtraction. None of the following runs on any page:
- No analytics service. There is no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no Matomo, Plausible, Hotjar or Clarity.
- No advertising. The site carries no ads, no ad network and therefore no advertising or retargeting cookie.
- No social or tracking pixels. Nothing from TikTok, Instagram, Meta or any other platform is embedded.
- No accounts. Registration is switched off, so there is no profile, password or email list.
- No comments. Commenting is disabled site-wide, so no name, email or IP is captured that way.
- No contact form. The contact page is a plain email address, which means nothing you write reaches a form database.
What that list does not mean is that nothing leaves the site. Two things do, and pretending otherwise would be exactly the kind of template claim this page is trying to avoid. Your browser fetches a web font from Google on every page, and the name generator passes what you type to a separate service of ours. Both are set out in full below.
What the name generator stores
Two things happen when you type a name into the generator. It is saved on our own server as a daily count — the name and how many times it was built that day, stored with no IP address beside it. Separately, our server sends that same name together with your IP address to our name service, which is what returns the matching symbol set.
The second half matters more than the first, so to be exact about it: the request goes from our server, not from your browser, and it carries the text you typed and the IP address your request arrived from. That is the only place your IP is passed on in connection with something you typed.
We keep it because it is how we decide what to build next: the names people actually search for tell us which symbol sets deserve a page. Here is everything the tool writes down.

There is a filter, and it is important to be precise about how far it reaches. Anything you type is cut to 60 characters. Before a name is added to the weekly tally, it is dropped entirely if it is shorter than two characters, longer than forty, contains six or more digits in a row, contains an @ sign or a web address, or matches a blocked or adult term — so a phone number or email address never reaches that tally and never reaches our back-end.
That filter does not guard the daily counter on this server, which is written first. If you type an email address or a phone number into the generator, it can sit in that table until the 35-day window clears it. We would rather tell you that than let you assume a filter covers more than it does — and if you have typed something you would rather remove, the deletion section below is the way to have it taken out sooner.
How long anything is kept
Thirty-five days. A job runs once a day and deletes every counter row older than that, so the oldest data on the site is always about five weeks old.
The window is not arbitrary: the site reports on rolling 7-day and 28-day periods, and 35 days is the widest of those plus a few days of headroom. Nothing is archived before deletion and there is no long-term copy — when a row passes the window it is removed from the table, not moved somewhere quieter.
Cookies
Browsing COOLMOJI sets no cookies. We checked the responses for the home page and the contact page while writing this: neither returns a cookie of any kind, because there is no login, no cart, no preference store and no analytics that would need one.
One exception is outside our code. The site sits behind Cloudflare, which may set a short-lived security cookie on some visits to tell a browser apart from an automated bot. That cookie carries no profile and is not readable by us. If your browser blocks cookies entirely, every page and every copy button still works.
Who else handles your data
Everyone who can see something is named here rather than hidden behind the phrase “our partners”. The split that matters is whether your browser talks to them directly, or whether our server does it on your behalf.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a content network and sees the IP address of every request, the way any network layer must in order to route it.
- Google Fonts. Your browser fetches the two typefaces this site is set in from Google servers on every page. That request is made by your browser, not by us, so Google receives your IP address, your browser identification and the page you were on. Google is the only outside party your browser contacts directly, it happens whether or not you use the generator, and we would need to host the fonts ourselves to stop it.
- Our web host keeps ordinary server access logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser string. They exist to diagnose faults and abuse, and they are not joined to anything in the tables above.
- Our security layer records blocked requests and failed sign-in attempts to the WordPress admin, including the IP that made them. Since visitors never sign in, this concerns attackers rather than readers.
- Our name service receives the text you type into the generator together with your IP address, sent from our server rather than your browser, and returns the symbol set for it. The same service receives a nickname you submit or copy, again with your IP address, so the copy can be counted against the right item. Nothing else about you goes with either request.
- Our symbol data services. To fill a result the server also asks a translation helper for the topic word behind your name, and a symbol database for the matching set. The first sees the word you typed; the second sees only the topic derived from it. Neither receives your IP address.
- Our own back-end receives the weekly demand tally described above — counts of names, never IPs and nothing about an individual visitor.
Nobody else. There is no data broker, no advertising exchange, no analytics vendor and no email marketing platform in the chain, because the site does not use any. To be clear about the list above: Cloudflare, our web host and the security tooling are outside companies handling data on the site’s behalf, in the ordinary way any site needs a network and a server. The name, translation and symbol services and the demand back-end are our own infrastructure.
The copy counter
Copying is counted in one place only: the generator. When you copy a result it produced, that result’s counter goes up — attached to the item, never to you, and at most once per item per visit, which is what makes the Top Week Emojis Copied block on the home page possible without any tracking. What you are allowed to do with the symbols you copy, and with anything you submit, is covered separately in our terms of use.
Copy buttons on the library pages are not counted at all. Tapping one puts the characters on your clipboard and nothing is sent to us, so those taps leave no record anywhere.
In both cases the copy action itself happens in your browser. When you tap a character it goes to your clipboard on your own device; the text is never sent to us to be copied on your behalf.
Children’s privacy
COOLMOJI is a general-audience symbol library and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and in practice we collect no personal information from anyone: there are no accounts, no profiles and no fields asking for a real name, age, school or location. If you believe a child has typed something identifying into the generator, email us and we will remove it — see the deletion section below.
Your rights
Because the site holds no account and no identifier for you, most data rights have nothing to attach to. Where a right does apply, here is how it works in practice.
If you are in the European Union or the UK (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for the counters above is legitimate interest — knowing which symbol sets to build — and that interest is narrow because the data carries no identifier. Requests are handled by email and there is no charge.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to correct it and to opt out of its sale or sharing. COOLMOJI does not sell or share personal information, has never done so, and does not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Exercising any of these rights will never get you a worse experience on the site.
If you are in India (DPDP Act 2023)
India is the site’s largest audience, so this matters here more than the two sections above. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act you may ask what personal data of yours is held, ask for its correction or erasure, and nominate someone to exercise those rights on your behalf. The practical answer for almost every reader will be that we hold nothing tied to you — but you are entitled to ask, and we will answer.
Asking us to delete something
Email support@coolmoji.com and tell us what to look for — for instance the exact name you typed into the generator and roughly when. We will search the counter tables for it and delete the row.
Two honest caveats. Because nothing is stored with an identifier, we cannot look up “everything about me”; we can only look up a specific value you give us. And if more than 35 days have passed, the row is already gone, so there is nothing left to delete.
Changes to this policy
When what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We do not backdate it, and we do not edit it quietly to describe something we started doing last month. If a future version of the site ever adds analytics or advertising, that will be written here before it ships, not after.
